This data set describes the basic winter ecology of Arctic fox (Alopex lagopus; TSN 622025) and Red fox (Vulpes vulpes, TSN 180604) in Deadhorse town (adjacent to Prudhoe Bay), Alaska. Data were collected during 9 days at least twice a day from the public road system March 8th til 16th 2012. The study area is located in a production oil field, and the surrounding habitat is Arctic tundra and located above the Arctic circle at the Arctic ocean coast. This data set includes photos, videos. Photos allow for indiviudal species identification. The Excel sheet includes data with the following worksheets: food items, timetable, den database, AF presence,RF presence, den presence, narrative, opportunistic sightings, dumpster list, opportunistic species list, predators, confirmed absence, escape distances. We used GPS to collect all data (decimal degrees latitude longitude, wgs84). The biggest work sheet consist of 151 rows (opportunistic sightings, e.g. tracks, feces and urin). The Excel sheet has an overall size of 255 KB. Other species covered in this data set is: Raven (Corvus corax TSN 179725; virtually no additional species were seen). Please see also other data sets by the authors on Arctic fox and Red fox in Alaska and Russia.
