<title>ALASKAN WILDLIFE DISEASES</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11122/3021</link>
<description>ALASKAN WILDLIFE DISEASES
Dieterich, Robert A.
The expertise of the writers of&#13;
Alaskan Wildlife Diseases covers a&#13;
broad area of science including&#13;
veterinary medicine, bacteriology,&#13;
virology, parasitology, physiology,&#13;
biochemistry and pathology. They&#13;
each gave freely their time with out&#13;
compensation because of a basic&#13;
desire to share their knowledge,&#13;
observations and experiences. These&#13;
writers are all professional wildlife&#13;
disease investigators who have worked&#13;
in Alaska. Their dealings with wildlife&#13;
in Alaska total more than 70&#13;
years of experience. Hopefully, this&#13;
joint effort will serve to bring&#13;
people in this area of interest&#13;
together so that they may each express&#13;
their opinions and receive comments&#13;
in a continuing effort to share&#13;
and expand knowledge of wildlife&#13;
disease.

<title>Bibliography of Reindeer/Caribou Disease Investigators</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11122/2961</link>
<description>Bibliography of Reindeer/Caribou Disease Investigators
Morton, Jamie K.; Dieterich, Robert A.
The need to exchange information on research in reindeer and&#13;
caribou diseases became apparent to investigators attending the Second&#13;
International Reindeer/Caribou Symposium in Roros, Norway, in 1979.&#13;
Initially, bibliographies were to be exchanged by being submitted to and&#13;
subsequently distributed by workers at the University of Alaska. When&#13;
the bibliographies were submitted, it seemed sensible to computerize the&#13;
lists to facilitate searches for specific information in the future. An&#13;
apparently simple task became amazingly complex.  This is the resultant collection of publications by&#13;
reindeer/caribou disease researchers. Because researchers in wildlife&#13;
diseases tend to work on more than one species or topic, out of interest&#13;
or necessity, a decision was made to include all of a person's&#13;
references rather than to limit them to strictly reindeer/caribou&#13;
diseases.&#13;
The authors hope this will provide a good basis for exchange of&#13;
information among all those interested in reindeer/caribou diseases.

<title>Muskox Bibliography</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11122/2960</link>
<description>Muskox Bibliography
Triplehorn, Julia H.; Johnson, Lee E.
This bibliography is intended to be a comprehensive reference&#13;
source on muskoxen that will serve the biological researcher, the historian,&#13;
and the person interested in the economic potential and current&#13;
status of the muskox.  It includes books, periodicals, and newspapers,&#13;
and ranges from technical to popular coverage. The only systematic&#13;
exclusions were fiction and juvenile books. Those references which are&#13;
available at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, are marked with an&#13;
asterisk (*) in front of the title.
