Pat is a life-long Alaskan with an interesting past and an eye towards the future. As the CIO, Pat leads our Information Technology Services department which oversees the UAA network, wireless, email, public computer labs, Call Center, and many other services. It was nice discussion, and we didn’t even let Intern Josh derail the show. Keep your ear holes listening, The Boss
TKR8: The Blackboard QueensDannenberg, David; DeHass, David; Madden, Laura; Ross, Amy (University of Alaska Anchorage, 2015-12-08)Hello Nerds, Today’s show focused on Blackboard Learn and UAA’s pending upgrade over the Winter break. We were joined on the show by UAA’s very own BLACKBOARD QUEENS, Lara Madden and Amy Ross, who work behind the scenes to ensure things work as best they can for both faculty and students. From the sound of things the upgrade will fix and improve our Blackboard quite a bit. We also talked about the Blackboard apps that will be available for use after the upgrade. Intern Josh also mentioned that you can add money to your WolfCard from the UAA Mobile app. Keep those ear holes listening,
TKR9: Star Wars….need we say moreDannenberg, David; DeHass, David (University of Alaska Anchorage, 2015-12-17)Hello Nerds, This week is all about the release of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. Rather than doing what every other self respecting franchise fan (or Starwoidz) was doing, waiting in line for the first showing, The Boss missed the show to run around the woods on a school field trip. It’s OK though, he spent the whole time pretending to be an Ewok on the Forest Moon of Endor. Those kids had no idea what was happening but fun was had by all. If you missed the show on Tuesday, listen to it below then seriously contemplate watching the movie in the theater at the first opportunity you have.
