| dc.description.abstract | The Alaska Justice Information Center (AJiC) administered the Alaska Police—Public Contact Survey (PPCS) from May 1, 2022 through September 30, 2022. The primary aims of the PPCS were to develop an Alaska-specific estimate of adult Alaskans who came into contact with police in the preceding 12 months, to describe the nature and outcomes of police—public encounters, and to assess the attitudes and perceptions of adult Alaskans as they pertain to police. The Alaska PPCS survey instrument was developed using modified versions of survey questions included in the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics’ Police-Public Contact Survey, which is the primary data source for police—public contacts in the United States. | en_US |
