    Description
UAG R-155; Solar Eclipse Series Scientific Report Number One; Preface excerpt: For many years the primary interest of the Geophysical Institute of the University of Alaska has been the physics of the upper atmosphere; both the radio and optical techniques have been employed in the investigations. The total solar eclipse of 20 July 1963 whose path of totality passed only a few miles south of the Institute offered excellent opportunity for observations of a unique character. This report gives the results of several experiments conducted by the staff during the eclipse.
